I've been reading some other people's blogs and they've been talking about the whole Christmas/the politically correct way to name this beautiful day.
Christmas insn't politically correct anymore. This (traditionally) Christian holiday can't be Christian anymore. Everyone else, who picked the holiday up from us/the Pagans, demand that it be renamed. It isn't even their holiday, but they have to have it named for them.
Like the old saying goes:
Beggars can't be choosers. In this instance, the people that want it renamed are the beggars. I'm not saying they are beggars, they just represent them in this quote.
I'll call them skys (it's random ok)
So if Skys want to celebrate what we call Christmas, they "just have to" choose what it is called.
It isn't theirs to rename, is what i'm saying.
Another thing:
Skys say we should say "Holidays", instead of Christmas or Hannukah (forgive me, I can't spell very well) This is what they are "begging" for.
People don't understand the real meaning of the word HOLIDAY.
They think it will solve all their problems for renaming it to
"Happy Holidays"IT WON'T WORK FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM.
See, the
meaning of holiday is really "HOLY DAY"So, changing it to "Happy Holidays" won't really change the meaning of the word Christmas, because you are implying the same word.
To Christians,
Christmas is a Holy Day made for our LORD, JESUS CHRIST.
So Skys really should realize that saying "Happy Holidays" is just like saying Merry Christmas.
See:
Happy=Merry
Holiday(Holy Day)= Christmas
See my points?
Christmas isn't theirs to rename.
Also, saying "Happy Holidays" won't work for solving Skys' problem.
