This (traditionally) Christian holiday can't be Christian anymore. Everyone else, who picked the holiday up from us/the Pagans, demand that it be renamed. It isn't even their holiday, but they have to have it named for them.
Like the old saying goes: Beggars can't be choosers.

In this instance, the people that want it renamed are the beggars. I'm not saying they are beggars, they just represent them in this quote.
I'll call them skys (it's random ok)
So if Skys want to celebrate what we call Christmas, they "just have to" choose what it is called.

It isn't theirs to rename, is what i'm saying.

Another thing:

Skys say we should say "Holidays", instead of Christmas or Hannukah (forgive me, I can't spell very well) This is what they are "begging" for.

People don't understand the real meaning of the word HOLIDAY.
They think it will solve all their problems for renaming it to "Happy Holidays"
IT WON'T WORK FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM.

See, the meaning of holiday is really "HOLY DAY"
So, changing it to "Happy Holidays" won't really change the meaning of the word Christmas, because you are implying the same word.
To Christians, Christmas is a Holy Day made for our LORD, JESUS CHRIST.
So Skys really should realize that saying "Happy Holidays" is just like saying Merry Christmas.
See:
Happy=Merry

Holiday(Holy Day)= Christmas

See my points?
Christmas isn't theirs to rename.
Also, saying "Happy Holidays" won't work for solving Skys' problem.

It's a Shame

Alright, I joined it...jumped right on the bandwagon. They are by Donita K. Paul, a Christian writer/storyteller. These are fantastic fantasy books. Interesting, yet simple books, they are must-reads.

These books are also Bible-types. They have Jesus, Satan, God, and others in different names.

DRAGONSPELL is about a orphan slave girl named Kale who finds eight dragon eggs and raises two of them (remember this is the first book) She has to deal with the evil Wizard Risto (He is like a Satan's angel) and his master Pretender (he is like Satan) Kale has the protection of Wulder (God) and Palidan (Jesus) to help. She has to retrieve the special meech dragon egg. All is going well until a key friend and comrade is kdnapped by Wizard Risto.

DRAGONQUEST is about Kale. She hatches at least two more eggs, the meech and another(I'm not quite finished with the book) She is first sent on a quest to rescue her mother, whom she didn't know existed. Then plans change and Palidan sends her to recue another meech egg, which they didn't know existed. She has her kidnapped friend back, the hatched meech dragon, and more who help her on the way.

These are great books and you should read them.

Barlow Girl

Barlow Girl is pretty cool. They are a Christian group with awesome and inspiring songs. NO, they aren't a bunch of hymn-singers that are really boring. They play rock, with vocals, bass, electric and acoustic guitars, piano, and an assortment of strings.

This new CD is called Another Journal Entry. Another Journal Entry is Barlow Girl's second release. I wasn't old enough to ref yet, so I had to wait until next season, when I would be old enough to. Anyway, my first game was yesterday (Saturday) and I refereed U-8 kids. All last week I was really nervous. I was nervous about not cheking the time, so the game would go late and that the parents would complain to the ref administrator. It started off really wierd. I checked one team in (shinguards, jewelry, etc.) I then checked in the other team, turned around and there stood a different team. I was really confused, but then I realised that it was a different team. So I checked them in. I call the team captains up (to figure out what team kicked off) and the coaches came up. These are like 30-ish year guys, and I have to tell them to get one of their player's butts over here (only not in those words) When I got that cleared up, we finally started. It gets to ten minutes (the U-8 quarter time) and I am teaching a little girl how to throw in correctly. Then one of those idiot parents decieded 'Oh, I'm twenty years older than this girl, I'm going to tell her how to ref.' During my training course, they told me I was superior to everyone on the field and its edges, so I was superior to those stupid parents.

Anyway, the quarter was supposed to end; those stupid parents decide to tell their kids the quarter's over and I haven't blown the wistle. Then the parents tell me that the quarter is over. I have to agree; the minutes said 10:33 on my watch.

The rest of the game went well, except for the fact that the game before me started really late, so I had to end our game early. I went to the coaches and told them the quarters would be cut to 6 minutes, instead of ten. I heard the parents start to grumble and say to their spouses 'I paid for my kid to play 40 minutes every game, not for this' I am thinking to myself (and wanting to scream out) THIS IS NOT MY FAULT. I AM SORRY THAT THE 9:00 GAME STARTED LATE. DON'T BLAME ME.

Stupid parents....it is just a game for your kid to have fun.

Please Pray a Lot!

Everyone......Even if you don't read anything else on this page, I want you to read this. If you are watching the news, you know this, but I will tell you anyway. Katrina just might be the worst hurricane in recorded history. People in New Orleans and the surrounding cities and states are going to be without food soon. Babies will be without diapers, some without food and water. This is so sad, it is almost unreal. Please, I beg you, please pray everytime you remember. There is now rediculous insurance rates, 40 cent gas rises, mortage rates huge........ Think about this as if it was you or family or friends, because for a lot of people it is. There is ten feet of water, thousands of people dead in their attics, without food, some drown, others are so devastated, they would rather die. Please pray.......I am crying while writing this.....it is so hard to live with this. I wish I could do something.....I guess I can. I will use the best weapon ever.....Prayer. I wish this had never happend, but it did.......SO PLEASE PRAY.

Guitar!

I just got a guitar!
